Set the default color and icon for new lists and categories

Pick a color and an icon once on the Settings screen so every new list or new category you create starts with them already applied.

Set a default color and a default icon for lists, and the same for categories, so you don't pick them every time you create one.

Default color and Default icon rows sit under Lists and under Categories on the Settings screen. Tapping either opens a sheet titled after the row, with Cancel and Done at the bottom.

Default color

  1. On the Settings screen, tap Default color under Lists or Categories.

The Default color sheet with Auto and No color at the top, three preset colors under Preset, and ten custom colors under Custom
  2. Tap Auto, No color, or a color under Preset or Custom.
  3. Tap Done.

Auto assigns a color for you; No color keeps a neutral look. The row's swatch updates, and a Color updated message confirms it.

Default icon

  1. On the Settings screen, tap Default icon under Lists or Categories.

The Default icon sheet, a grid of icon choices with Cancel and Done at the bottom
  2. Tap an icon.
  3. Tap Done.

The row's preview updates, and an Icon updated message confirms it.

Whichever you set, your choice applies the next time you create a list or a category.
