What's on the template form
The short form behind creating, renaming and duplicating a template: the Name field and what happens when it is empty or taken, the line counting items, Cancel and Save, and what the form deliberately leaves out.
One short form stands behind every change you make to a template's name. It opens when you create a template, when you rename one, and when you duplicate one.
The back arrow at the top leaves the form without saving. The title beside it says which of the three you are on: Create Template for a new one, Edit Template when you are changing one you already have, and Duplicate when you are copying one.

Name
Name is the only field. While it is empty it reads Type your template name here....
Two templates cannot share a name. Capitals and extra spaces do not make a name different, so "City break" and "city break" count as the same name. Spaces at the start and end are dropped when you save, and runs of spaces inside the name become one.
If you tap Save with the name empty, the field is highlighted and the template is not saved until you type one. If another template already has the name, Template already exists shows under the field and nothing is saved.
The line under the field
Arrive here from Duplicate, or from a list you are saving as a template, and a grey line under the field counts the items that are coming with the new template. A template you start from scratch has nothing to count, so the line is not there.
Cancel and Save
Cancel closes the form and changes nothing, the same as the back arrow.
Save stores the name and takes you back to where you opened the form from.
What the form does not hold
There are no travel dates on a template. It keeps items, and nothing about when you travel.
There are no items here either. A new template is saved empty, and you fill it from the template's own screen, where Add item opens your catalog — see Add items to a template.
