Some things are not ready to pack yet: the shirt is in the wash, the power bank is charging, the sunscreen is still in the shop. The Ready status gives those items a step of their own, before you pack them.

Turn the Ready status on

  1. On the More tab, tap Settings.
  2. In the Lists section of the Settings screen, turn on Use "Ready" status.

The Lists section of Settings with the Use "Ready" status switch on

Mark an item ready

  1. Open a list.
  2. Swipe the item to the left.

A tile reading Mark Ready appears behind the row.

  3. Let go.

With the Ready status on, anything you have not marked yet is dimmed, and its square is drawn with a dashed outline. Marking an item ready brings it back to full strength. The faint items are the ones you still have to buy, wash or charge.

A list with the Ready status on: items still to sort out carry a dashed square and dimmed text, ready ones look plain, and a packed one is crossed out

Swipe the same row again to take the mark off; the tile then reads Mark Not Ready. An item you have already packed cannot be swiped, because it is past the ready step.

To mark the whole list at once:

  1. Tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner.
  2. Tap Mark all as….
  3. Tap Ready or Not ready.

Show only what still needs doing

  1. Tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner.
  2. Tap Filter.
  3. Tap Hide ready.
The list menu with Filter open, offering to hide packed items and ready items

Items that are ready drop out of the list, leaving what you still have to sort out. Turn it back with Show ready.

Tip: in Settings, Clear "Ready" status decides whether unpacking the whole list also clears the ready marks. Leave it off if you reuse the same list for the next trip and your ready items stay ready.
